Service Day!!

Details for YLT Sunday

Well the weekend is almost here, as well as our YLT Service day for Sunday. Here are some details about the day.

Registration begins at 8:45am
Mass at 9:00am
We will go to the Spritual Renewal Center by bus at 11:15am and return to Holy Family about 4:15pm
BRING a sack lunch, work gloves if you have some and old clothes.

January YLT

Hey Guys and Gals, just a reminder something to look forward to at the beginning of the new year, the YLT Retreat!! It's January 10-11th, 2009 at the Spiritual Renewal Center. Other details will follow.

YLT Service Day, Dec. 7th

This training was not on the original schedule, but it was requested by YLT members.... so we will meet on Sunday, December 7,2008 at Holy Family in Victoria. We will attend 9am Mass and then our YLT service day will begin. Please bring: old clothes, a sack lunch, a positive willing attitude and a snack to share. We will finish between 4:00 and 4:30 p.m. and you can be picked up at Holy Family then. The plans are to do several projects, so we will not be staying at Holy Family all day. Please respond whether you are able to attend or not. See you Sunday!!

Jr. High Fiesta Feedback

Good morning everyone. We just wanted to thank you all again for such a great job that you all did at the fiesta. Everything seemed to have gone very well. Mike did it a wonderful job too. What did y'all think of the day?

A Prayer for our Nation's Election

O God, we acknowledge You today as Lord, not only of individuals, but of nations and governments. We thank You for the privilege of being able to organize ourselves politically and of knowing that political loyalty does not have to mean disloyalty to You. We thank You for Your law, Which our Founding Fathers acknowledged and recognized as higher than any human law. We thank You for the opportunity that this election year puts before us, to exercise our solemn duty not only to vote, but to influence countless others to vote, and to vote correctly. Lord, we pray that Your people may be awakened. Let them realize that while politics is not their salvation, their response to You requires that they be politically active. Awaken Your people to know that they are not called to be a sect fleeing the world but rather a community of faith renewing the world. Awaken them that the same hands lifted up to You in prayer are the hands that pull the lever in the voting booth; That the same eyes that read Your Word are the eyes that read the names on the ballot, and that they do not cease to be Christians when they enter the voting booth. Awaken Your people to a commitment to justice, to the sanctity of marriage and the family, to the dignity of each individual human life, and to the truth that human rights begin when Human Lives Begin, and not one moment later. Lord, we rejoice today that we are citizens of Your kingdom. May that make us all the more committed to being faithful citizens on earth. We ask this through Jesus Christ, our Lord.

Amen.

Junior High Fiesta Planning Meeting

This is our next meeting, the Fiesta planning on Saturday, Nov. 1st, from 1:30-4:30pm at the Chancery. You must attend to facilitate at Fiesta. Please let us know by Oct. 29th if you ARE able to attend.
